When it comes to placing a rug, the size plays a crucial role. For a 5x8 rug, it is recommended to keep the furniture legs off the rug, as this size is perfect for a small space. However, regardless of the size, you'll want to leave 18 to 24 inches of exposed floor around the perimeter.
For an 8x10 rug, the rug will fill the visual space of a seating area, and the front legs of all furniture should be placed around the edges. Again, it's important to leave 18 to 24 inches of exposed floor around the perimeter.
A 9x12 rug, on the other hand, will fill most rooms, and all the furniture should be placed directly on top to keep the space intimate. As with the other sizes, you'll want to leave 18 to 24 inches of exposed floor around the perimeter.

It's important to note that your rug may arrive with some creases due to the factory rolling and tight packaging during storage. These creases will typically flatten within 3-5 days in warm weather and 5-7 days in cooler seasons. You can also reduce or remove the creasing by rolling the rug, pattern side up, and massaging the creases with your hands. This loosens the backing and helps ease it flat. Additionally, laying the rug out in a sunny room can help further loosen the backing.
Polypropylene rugs are super easy to clean. For spills, simply remove any excess material and blot the stain with a clean cloth dampened with lukewarm water. Avoid rubbing the stain, as this will only push it deeper into the fiber and make it harder to remove. Repeat this process with a solution of lukewarm water and dish detergent, then finish by blotting with water and a clean white cloth.
