For a 5x8 Rug: This size is recommended for small spaces, with the furniture legs off the rug. Be sure to leave 18 to 24 inches of exposed floor around the perimeter.
For an 8x10 Rug: An 8x10 rug will fill the visual space of a seating area, with the front legs of all furniture placed around the edges. Again, leave 18 to 24 inches of exposed floor around the perimeter.
For a 9x12 Rug: A 9x12 rug will fill most rooms, with all furniture placed directly on top to keep the space intimate. As with the other sizes, leave 18 to 24 inches of exposed floor around the perimeter.
